Ranking All The Four Season Hotels We Have Stayed At – Part 1

On Saturday, while enjoying our Friday night cocktails at home, I was telling my husband, Toby, that I saw Dorothy Wang (someone I follow on Instagram – she was also in Rich Kids of Beverly Hills show that is now re-streaming on Hulu) at the Four Seasons Los Cabos gym. We have been talking about our 2025 trips, debating between the Bahamas or somewhere closer. About 20-30 minutes later, we were all booked. This time, we’ll be going to the brand new Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas, the second Four Seasons hotel in Cabo, Mexico. They’ve just opened the hotel in May, and obviously it’ll be our first time there. We do have another new Four Seasons hotel to stay later this year in Orlando. Very excited to be staying at these properties soon.

While we’re waiting until then, I thought to rank all of the Four Seasons hotels we have stayed in the past few years.

My General Thoughts

To be very clear, we love the Four Seasons Hotel brand. I majored in Hospitality Management in college, and spent 1000 unpaid hours interning at the Sheraton Seattle and the Four Seasons Seattle. I loved my experiences at both hotels, but interning at the Four Seasons Seattle had given me such a special opportunity to really learn about the brand and their ultimate care for their guests. Once we’ve started staying at their hotels later in my adult life, there is truly no going back. There is no “bad hotel” in this brand that we’ve stayed at, so let me get that out of the way. And if you know, you know: the brand’s customer service is exceptional, and they really cater to families. There are, obviously, the ones that have given me a much longer lasting impression by a lot of other factors: type of trips (resort/beach or city trip), the quality of the room (mainly some hotels are older than others), and perhaps location (less likely to impact my opinions about them, but number 10 on my list was partly due to their location).

10. Four Seasons Las Vegas

The Four Seasons Las Vegas is located inside the Mandalay Bay, occupying rooms from the 35th to the 39th floor. With its separate entrance, the hotel’s setup is not the typical layout of the hotels in Vegas, allowing their guests to not have to walk through the casino to get to the room elevators or restaurants. That, I like. And you’ll definitely be staying with more relaxing people, making it a better option for a family with young kids. We like the quieter aspect of the hotel compared to the rest on the strip, as well as their exceptional service that stays true to the brand. However, the dining options within the Four Seasons Vegas were meh. Their main restaurant, Veranda, was just okay, and the bar was also just okay. And there were just not a lot to choose from. In addition, the Mandalay Bay is at one end of the strip, making it a lot longer to go to other better restaurants and shows, especially in chaotic Vegas. I think Four Seasons does have a great opportunity there to create something that is special for their clientele while being different from the typical casino-resorts surrounding. Now, maybe that’s why they don’t think it’s the right market to focus their energy on? I wouldn’t blame them, either. However, as far as a hotel to come back to in Vegas, I think we would probably go somewhere else.

9. Four Seasons Chicago

The location of the Four Seasons Chicago is prime, taking the 30-46 floors of the 900 North Michigan Avenue building (the 7th tallest building in Chicago). Our suite had a spectacular view of Lake Michigan, although it was raining on the first full day there so we couldn’t really see anything. The lobby is bright and modern. The gym is spacious with enough machines for rush hours of gym-goers, but also space for weight type of workouts. The lobby bar, which serves food & drinks from their fine dining restaurant Adorn, was excellent. We had a few quick bites with a cocktail (Toby and his elevated Espresso Martini in the picture above) after arriving at the hotel, and we were actually satisfied. Beyond that, the hotel is older and I think they may need some upgrades. Although, being in Chicago and with the impressive architectural history of buildings, I understand why they would want to maintain the feel of the hotel. Being a city hotel, it’s a great one. The reason why it is behind the next hotel …is simply because of the gym – and to be fair to them, they have a GREAT gym already. Anyway, we had a best time in Chicago and we’d definitely stay there again next time.

8 – Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC

This city hotel, in the middle of George Town in Washington, D.C., is great. The room was spacious and bright. The service, as always, was top-notch. The atrium of the hotel (pictured above) is a nice touch to being in the middle of the city. However, the big brownie point that I give them is the hotel gym. To say I was very impressed with a city hotel’s gym is an understatement. Besides the number of machines they have, the layout works pretty well. All of the cardio machines are located on the upper floor of the gym, then you’ll find a huge open space for weights and yoga blocks downstairs. We don’t skip our daily workouts while traveling, so this was a big bonus for us. We did most of our dining in the city, so I don’t have notes for their dining options. However, we had a great time eating around the city in D.C., and that somehow tells me we would have had a lovely time eating in the hotel, too.

7 – Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel

I must say the Beverly Wilshire being higher than other city hotels within the brand is mostly due to their location on Rodeo Drive. Shopping was the main reason for that trip, and so this proximity to the action could not be beaten. It helped that we had such a great suite, as both Toby and I were still doing some work on one of the days while we were there, so the separation of the living room and the bedroom worked really well for our Zoom calls. The hotel was first built in 1928, then renovated in 1998 and 2006, but the suite seemed a lot more upgraded than in 2006! And you know, the “Pretty Woman” reference is a totally cool added point. The gym was great, two floors – although they were changing out their cardio machines so I had to be a bit creative when I needed to log in my runs that week. The pool, though, was a bit small and cramped. However, we were not there to enjoy pool days, so that didn’t really matter to us. Another brownie point to give to the Beverly Wilshire was that we went to the Sushi by Scratch pop-up in one of their presidential suites. Impressed and happily fed throughout that amazing experience, we were such big fans.

6 – Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

This is the Four Seasons that started it all for me, my first ever Four Seasons hotel that I wasn’t just coming in to see (ha!). It is also the hotel of the famous HBO show “The White Lotus” and yeah, it’s where the rich people vacation in Maui. The last time we came here was probably in 2018, so I don’t remember the room we got. But, the resort’s festivity – lobby was fun and cheerful all the time with Hawaiian live music perfumed at night in the lobby restaurant; there were a lot of families so kids were everywhere running and having fun, or crying and screaming; the breakfast buffet was excellent with tropical fruits and everything you’d want. The main pool, the adult-only pool, the kids’ pool, the beach, the coffee/ shaved-ice stand, the beach activities, the restaurants, the gym (indoor and outdoor!!!), the tennis court, nothing was to complain about, really. The resort is also located in Wailea which is a short car ride to some other restaurants nearby (Hello, the Monkeypod Kitchen), and a local supermarket for a quick spam musubi grab when needed. Overall, a great luxury option for a family with younger kids.
