Here we are, the top 5 Four Seasons hotels & resorts out of all 10 I have stayed at. I don’t think there would be any surprises that these are mostly resorts, because, again, a beach vacation does that to me (feeling relaxed, and completely immersed in the peaceful setting of the environment).
Quick disclaimer – I love the Four Seasons brand and I’ve never had a bad experience staying at one of their properties. These are just my ranking for a little fun, because this is what I do when I get anxious while waiting for the next trip!
5 – Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita

The Punta Mita property is so great that we’ve come back twice. Partly because Puerto Vallarta is not a terribly long flight from where we live, but mostly because we love this resort. The moment when you approach a giant protected wall (that houses this resort, the St Regis Punta Mita, and some other luxury properties). The resort is huge, with many activities that are perfect for a family with kids (young or teen). We spent a couple of mornings playing tennis, and it was a lot of fun! They have more than enough restaurants you’d need (more than 8, I believe) that serve amazing food from different cuisines. In addition, their gym is definitely one of the best resort gyms I’ve stayed at – big, the treadmills overlooking the outdoor with big palm trees, and a spacious area for free weights/yoga. In truth, the first time we came to Punta Mita, we stayed at both the Four Seasons and the St. Regis next door, and overall, I’d definitely pick the Four Seasons over the other one.
4 – Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi

This hotel screams luxury. The moment you step out of the elevator into their reception/lobby area (located on the 39th floor of the Otemachi One building), you will be stunned by the panoramic view of the city, the high ceiling, and the water/rock feature right in front of your eyes. It was truly one of those special “in-awe” moments of seeing something in my life! The hotel is newer than the other Four Seasons in the city, and so the rooms are very new, modern, and clean. The spa experience on the 39th floor was truly magical and peaceful as I was surrounded by the sky and Tokyo city with very soft music playing in the background. Now, their gym is on another level. I mean, it wasn’t surprising, to be honest, that their gym would have such an epic view (overlooking the Imperial Palace). I would work out there 3 times a day if I had the time, ha! Their bar – Virtu Tokyo, which was the #20 best bar in Asia in 2023, is also an amazing and romantic spot for couples. Overall, this hotel is just amazing and luxurious. They were also just awarded 3 keys by Michelin (the Man Tokyo only got 2 Keys), so I think I am pretty aligned with the experts there.
3 – Four Seasons Resort Nam Hai, Hoi An

Is it number 3 because it’s in Hoi An, Vietnam? Perhaps. I actually think this resort could rank even higher for me if we had been there in the summer time. It was rainy and a bit chilly when we went (in December), so we couldn’t really enjoy the beach and the beautiful pool. But nonetheless, the property is stunning. The room is beautiful, spacious, and very “Vietnamese”. Their main restaurant and bar serve delicious food and cocktails, and their Vietnamese & French restaurant “La Sen” serves a mean breakfast buffet. In fact, they have the BEST almond latte I have ever had, which is crazy to say. Vietnam is huge in coffee culture for sure with the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk? No questions there. But an almond latte? I was stunned, and I had to order 4 of those for myself and my siblings when we were on our way out to Hue. Of course, I could not not mention the gym. I know I’ve said this a few times, but truly they have one of the best gyms. Probably, it is why it’s high in the ranking for me even though we didn’t really experience the resort-y things we’d normally do otherwise. Lastly, you get to bike everywhere around the resort since it’s very big and spread out; and that was so fun to me. Love this place, and can’t wait to go back in the warmer weather.
2 – Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto

I have to say, it was hard for me to decide which of the Four Seasons in Japan ranks higher than the other. The one in Tokyo was just dressed in money, if that makes any sense, and that is very fitting for being in Tokyo. Kyoto, however, is a much slower, quieter, and calmer city. And the Four Seasons Kyoto embodies just that – historical and zen. Sitting and enjoying champagne at the Fuji teahouse located right on their 12th-century Shakusui-en pond was such a Japanese experience. The room is spacious and gorgeous – we got a suite so we had quite a decent amount of space with a separate bedroom and the living/dining area. One minor detail, their gym was in the basement, which is a bit of a letdown. It is very big, with separate rooms for yoga or floor workouts, but looking at a wall when working out is not the greatest thing that I would crave, ha. However, the historic ground, the beautiful property, and the most amazing omakase sushi at Sushi Wakon is nothing short of greatness for this hotel.
1 – Four Seasons Resort Los Cabo at Costa Palmas™
Here we are – number 1 on my list: The Four Seasons Lost Cabo at Costa Palmas. I love a desert, so a combination of a desert and ocean? Sign me up! Not even that, this property is new and beautiful looking. All their pools are literally insanely pretty, and the white sand doesn’t hurt either. Their restaurants have such delicious food – Toby had his best seared but super fresh tuna nigiri of his life at the ESTIATORIO MILOS, which I had to agree. The carnitas tacos at CASA DE BRASA were also so good that we had to get another round of those instead of desserts, and my friends, my husband loves a dessert, so this really says something. Not to keep repeating myself, but their gym is the best gym at a hotel. It’s obviously big, but the view from the cardio machine is indescribable. Now, one of our days there, there was an event being set up and I don’t know what the theme was supposed to be, but it felt like a mini version of the Burning Man, and I could see them putting it up from the treadmill while running. Needless to say, my run that morning went by real quick. I love, love, love this place, so so very much. I don’t know if the new Four Seasons resort in Cabo will top this, but we shall find out in a few months.
That’s all, folks. My ranking of all 10 Four Seasons hotels and resorts I’ve been so lucky to be able to enjoy. I am sure this ranking will change, so perhaps when we reach number 15 and 20, we can revisit it! I’ve had a lot of fun reliving my Four Seasons experiences writing this blog, and talking it out with Toby. If you haven’t seen the Part 1 of this ranking (6-10), read it here. Let me know your thoughts and/or your top 5 hotels & resorts!
